Nancy O'Dell's initial job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports on the lenient police approach towards DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to states authorities again releasing an even more strict directive on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. O'Dell later worked at the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend.
